I began teaching music for Central Academy of Music (2 studios) at age 15. I began by teaching private lessons to 55 students a week while attending high school. I taught music and performed professionally through my college years and have continued. I've been teaching music for most of my life.and loving it! I credit my skills in teaching to my outstanding music teacher, Neil Hakala. Currently, I teach piano, accordion, music theory, ear training, song writing, improvization, early childhood music, student teaching, and music for senior citizens.
My students have won awards in their City and Shelby County Schools in the Cultural Arts Original Composition Contests and in All West Band Competitions. They have performed in recitals, won talent shows in their schools, performed in churches, hospitals and nursing homes and have been finalists in the Junior Youth Talent Contest of the Mid South Fair.
